Anthony Hall, a community activist, holds a press conference at Lamont Place, a street in Rochester, N.Y., on Oct. 21, 2021. Hall called the conference a day after Christian Santiago, a 19-year-old boy, was killed by his stepfather in a family dispute. Hall was asking for all the gun violence activist groups to combine forces to stop the violence, especially after a recent surge in violence among young adults. “If something is going on in the community and folks need resources, we have to create a portal. It has to be a line, one phone call, a push of a button, where this individual needs resources and they get it without any questions. A shot go off and 25 people need to be showing up,” said Hall.
